The Genetics Society has the history of being one of the oldest societies devoted for genetics. Founded in 1919, by William Bateson, it consists of teachers, researchers, students and geneticists. It publishes news letters, sponsors researches on genetics, organizes seminars to popularize genetics, and aims to promulgate the public understanding of genetics.
